A major, global pump manufacturer needed to qualify multiple suppliers across numerous direct materials specifications in order to select new suppliers for an eAuction. Given the number of suppliers and spec’s, they needed a way to collect and analyze significant amounts of information in an organized manner.
Solution
- Customer invited all suppliers to a multi-part eRFx on the Scanmarket platform
- Bidders were able to provide responses and initial bids across 20 different line items
- Bidders were able to get complete specification information via attachments to eRFx
Result
- Customer was able to quickly determine which suppliers should participate in the final negotiation and weed out those that were not appropriate
- 12% initial savings vs. current pricing BEFORE final eAuction negotiation took place
